How Does a Fan Clutch Work?
The function of the Fan Clutch is to control the rotational speed of the cooling fan.
When the engine temperature rises, the valve is operated by the expansion of the bimetal, and higher viscosity oil flows into the operating room to generate the cooling fan and shear force, which causes the cooling fan to rotate rapidly.
When the engine cools, the oil in the operating room returns to the storeroom, causing the crankshaft and cooling fan to slip, reducing engine speed.
